Uluwatu Temple
Perched high above a cliff on the Indian Ocean, Uluwatu Temple is one of Bali’s most visited sites, and for good reason. Come sunset, you can snap stellar shots of the silhouette of the temple tiers against a background of vivid colours, or watch the sun descend into the sea while watching one of the legendary kacek and fire dances on the clifftop stage. Tickets for the kacek dance can be purchased inside the temple grounds and are separate from the temple entrance fee.
Rock Bar
For an experience like no other, head to AYANA Resort & Spa and get yourself in line for a seat at the Rock Bar, a glamorous glass structure perched on a rock jutting out of the Indian Ocean. The drinks may not be cheap, but you get what you pay for with offerings like premium spirits, handcrafted cocktails, and fine wines along with a selection of delectable bar bites like rock lobster spring rolls, crispy taquitos, and white chocolate passion fruit truffles.
Ku De Ta
Breezy beach vibes and laid-back beats are just part of the experience at Ku De Ta, one of Bali’s longest running and most iconic beach clubs. Settle in on one of the sofas and indulge in tipples like chilled martinis, refreshing mojitos and icy cold beers as you take in rhythms by the resident DJs and spectacular Seminyak sunset views. They also have a full menu on offer with dishes like pizza, seafood, tapas and desserts.
Batu Bolong Beach
After a long day ripping up the waves off the coast in Canggu, nothing beats heading back to the sand for a few cold ones with friends old and new. Batu Bolong Beach has become something of a sunset gathering spot for surfers, expats and travellers, so you will find plenty of places to grab drinks and nibbles while watching the sun go down including Old Man’s and a string of local warungs set back from the beach.
Jimbaran Seafood Restaurants
Once a small fishing village, Jimbaran is now the spot to go in Bali for ridiculously fresh seafood caught that day. The beach is lined with a plethora of seafood restaurants where you can pluck your meal out of huge tanks, grab a seat at a table on the sand, and watch the sun set over the water as the staff barbecue up your meal and serve it to you accompanied with rice, veggies and sambal.
