From USD 15,000 / night

Alila Purnama brings a whole new meaning to ‘luxury at sea’, as this 46-metre traditional phinisi liveaboard combines artisan craftsmanship with expansive spaces and five-star amenities and services. Brought to us by Alila Hotels & Resorts, who are renowned for their unique boutique properties across Asia and beyond, this exquisite 5-cabin phinisi-style yacht is a favourite among discerning travellers looking for a luxury cruise experience that goes far beyond the ordinary.

Onboard

From the outside Alila Purnama looks like a historic Bugis sailing vessel with a hand-built wooden hull, multi-tiered wooden cabins, and two majestic masts supporting tan-coloured sails. However, inside the interiors are fresh and modern with custom-made furniture consisting of local materials like teak and rattan, plush sofas and beds, and eye-catching Indonesian artworks and textiles.

Outside the wrap-around deck offers plenty of loungers for soaking up the sun and sea breezes or indulging in a signature massage by the onsite spa therapist, as well as a wooden dining table for gourmet meals and barbecues under the stars, and plenty of places to take in the ever-changing scenery of the Indonesian archipelago. Inside there is a peaceful salon, fully stocked library, and a dining room with windows on nearly every side.

Bespoke Cruises

Private charters on Alila Purnama are available for four nights or more throughout the year, and each cruise is tailored to your preferred itinerary. Their island-hopping adventures focus on the areas of Komodo National Park, Raja Ampat, and longer journeys to the remote Spice Islands of Ambon and the Banda Islands.

Imagine sailing on smooth seas under the light of the full moon (Purnama means full moon in Indonesian), and waking up to glittering turquoise waters, jungle cloaked peaks, and pristine white sand beaches. Depending on your chosen destination you could spend the day tracking down Komodo Dragons, diving or snorkelling in crystal clear waters amid a riot of colourful marine life, or anchoring next to a deserted beach for a seafood feast.

Cabins

The luxury suites onboard Alila Purnama wouldn’t be out of place at one of the Alila resorts, as each offers striking design elements and all the modern comforts that you could ask for. The master Sriwijaya suite sits above deck and has windows on three sides that can be opened to allow natural light and sea breezes to flow in, plus a private terrace with a daybed and deck chairs, and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub, shower, two washbasins and a separate toilet.

The other four suites are named after various Indonesian islands (Cirebon, Madura, Bali and Jawa) and designed with textiles and artworks from those particular cultures. Each has a queen-sized bed, writing desk, double wardrobe, and an ensuite bathroom. In addition, all suites have remote-controlled air conditioning and Wi-Fi access.
