6 Cabins | 12 Guests | 7 Crew | 31m From USD 5,500 / night
Raja Laut is a 31-metre luxury yacht that was modelled after a 19th century European trading schooner. The name means ‘King of the Seas’, which is a reference to Joseph Conrad’s maritime tales, and like many of the vessels in Conrad’s South Seas adventure stories, the ship has been plying the waters of the Indonesian and the Malay archipelago since its inception. In 2015 the ship underwent major renovations, so now guests will find the latest innovations onboard along with classic and contemporary design and decor.
Onboard
Raja Laut was designed using traditional boat building techniques, and this nod to the past can be seen in the strong ironwood hull and two-masted gaff-rigged design. Step onboard and you are greeted with an expansive teak deck sporting loungers that can be repositioned in the sun or the shade and an outdoor dining table under an awning.
The interiors of Raja Laut feature tropical hardwood floors, soft cushioned benches and rattan panels, as well as intriguing wooden carvings from around Southeast Asia. For socialising there is a cosy lounge with sofa benches and a flat-screen TV, and a dining galley with two wooden tables and long benches surrounded by windows.
Bespoke Cruises
For over a decade Raja Laut has been plying the seas of Southeast Asia, which means they have plenty of hands-on experience when it comes to creating unique itineraries. Journeys aboard the schooner include scuba diving sojourns to remote locales like the Maluku archipelago (AKA the Spice Islands), the sheltered bays of Sulawesi, and the protected Raja Ampat marine park. Komodo National Park is another popular destination for diving, trekking and catching glimpses of the biggest lizards on the planet, and the crew can also arrange cultural exchanges in local villages, nature walks, and volcano trekking trips.
Cabins
The 6 guest cabins on Raja Laut are ideal for large families, multiple families travelling together or groups as there are three newly refurbished double cabins and three twin cabins, each with an ensuite bathroom and mod cons like air-conditioning and hot water. The cabins are located on the lower deck, so they are cool and quiet no matter what time of day or night.
Facilities & Services
Raja Laut has the latest technology onboard including satellite navigation, Internet access and satellite phones. Guests will also find cutting edge diving and fishing gear, sea kayaks, water skis, a wakeboard and a banana boat, all available to guests at no extra charge.
The seven-person crew on the ship includes the captain, cruise director, private chef and dive master, as well as an engineer, steward/stewardess and deckhand. Each crew member is committed to making sure you have an unforgettable journey. Before the voyage they will procure your preference list and prepare for any special requests such as meal plans and activities including trekking, hiking, beach picnics, watersports and preferred destinations.
