Overview

Regardless of the size of your group, Villa Paloma offers plenty of space to socialise, eat and drink, soak up the sun or slip away with a good book. Start your day with breakfast on the wooden patio overlooking the pool and gardens before changing into your swimsuit for laps in the cool, clear water or heading off to the beaches, temples, golf courses, shops and eateries of southwestern Bali.

By late afternoon, you can gather with friends and family in the massive living room for light snacks and beverages and a game of pool on the breezy upper level. Dinner is all about exquisite dishes prepared by the resident chef, washed down with bottles of fine wine from the custom-built wine cellar.

As the sun begins to sink in the sky, soft lights illuminate the pool and the gardens, and the TV Room beckons with its state-of-the-art equipment, comfortable sofas and reclining chairs. Finally, the day ends with a soothing soak in the beautiful terrazzo bathtub in your ensuite bathroom and a deep sleep in your plush bed made up with crisp white sheets.

The Layout

Villa Paloma consists of two elegant buildings connected by a vast expanse of emerald green lawn fringed by tropical trees and flowers. The property is surrounded by a high wall to ensure that you have the utmost privacy and serenity, and there are plenty of lotus and lily ponds that add to the tranquil vibe. In addition, the owners have amassed a huge collection of art and antiques from around the archipelago, so each room in the Main House and Guest House has unique personal touches that make you feel like you are in an stylish home rather than a cookie-cutter holiday rental.

Living Area
The first thing you see when you enter the grounds of Villa Paloma is the Main House with its huge living area and lounge. Here you will find beautiful wicker sofas and chairs decked out in soft cushions, wooden tables sporting traditional stone statues, wood carvings and modern lamps, and soaring wood pillars that support the lofty alang-alang ceiling. One whole side of the room is open to allow for views of the pool and garden, although there are bamboo blinds that can be lowered to protect against the elements. On the upper level of the living room there is a pool table situated next to large windows that open to allow fresh breezes to flow through.

Dining & Kitchen
The indoor dining room is connected to the open-concept living room, and it features a long wooden table and chairs that can seat up to 10 people. This area also overlooks the pool, and is backed by antique wooden walls that evoke a sense of exotic and historic Indonesia. Next to the dining room, a modern wine cellar leads into the fully equipped kitchen. Behind the kitchen there is also a cozy dining area and a pantry.

Media Room
The air conditioned TV Room is the perfect spot to lie back and take in a movie or listen to music with friends and family. An oversized sofa with plenty of cushions and pillows is fronted by a large wooden coffee table where you can put your feet up and relax, and on either side of the sofa there are sleek reclining chairs that face the flat screen TV. This room also has a cutting edge stereo system, DVD player and high-speed Internet.

The Bedrooms
There are 3 bedrooms in the Main House, including the Master Bedroom. Each room is air conditioned for comfort and offers large beds that are draped in white mosquito nets and decorated with colorful silk throw pillows and bed runners. Traditional Indonesian antiques and artworks adorn the walls, and every day, the staff will place fresh flowers on the beds and around the room. The bedrooms also boast ensuite bathrooms with terrazzo bathtubs, marble counters and lush green plants. Some of the rooms also have outdoor showers for refreshing your body and mind under the sun and the stars.

Guest House
Across the garden from the Main House, you will find the Guest House with its 2 elegant bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and modern amenities, an open sided living room with comfortable couches and armchairs, and brightly colored sun loungers next to a small plunge pool. This building also has its own kitchen, so you can prepare yourself snacks, keep beverages cool or get the chef to whip you up delectable meals.

Outdoor Living
If outdoor living is your thing, Villa Paloma won’t disappoint. The sprawling grounds here offer vast expanses of green grass, pretty ponds with lotus flowers, lily pads, fish and frogs, and attractive benches set in the shade of frangipani and coconut trees. Directly in front of the Main House, a lovely sundeck surrounds the pool and enticing sun loungers sport vibrant red cushions. Next to the pool there is a small wooden patio where you can dine next to the water and a thatch-covered bale (gazebo) for afternoon naps or massages. The pool itself has shallow ledges for small children or those who simply want to sunbathe and keep cool at the same time, and there is also a deep end that is perfect for doing laps under the clear blue skies.

Location

Villa Paloma is located in the village of Pererenan in the north Canggu area. In the immediate vicinity are a few neighbouring villas, rice fields, coconut palms, temples and the general buzz of Balinese village life. The rugged Pererenan surf beach is less than a kilometre from the villa; here you will find a couple of cafés that serve simple food and offer great sunset views. Less than half an hour away - and easily accessible thanks to the villa's complimentary car and driver - are the many restaurants, bars, boutiques, clubs and cafés of chic Seminyak, and the villa is only 15 minutes away from Bali Nirwana, one of the best Golf courses in Southeast Asia.

We called it our oasis

We have had the most enjoyable stay at Villa Paloma. The Villa itself and the garden are beautiful. We called it our Oasis, away from noise and traffic of this area. And the staff looked after us so well. Very sad to be moving out but…all good things must end. Thank You Putut and your entire team for making our stay with you so perfect.

The wedding was intimate and beautiful in "our villa"

From the moment I walked down the entrances stairs I was overwhelmed by the beauty of Villa Paloma. We had chosen the Villa online and the photos we saw do not quite describe the grand scale and peacefulness of this beautiful place. The wedding was intimate and beautiful. It was everything, Elise and I hoped it would be. Putu and hiss staff were perfectly attentive while also giving us our privacy. We always felt we were in "our Villa". The main bedroom presentation on the wedding night was also a special gift that was unexpected.

Thank you for an amazing week! From the moment we arrived in this beautiful location you have looked after our every need. The pride with which you are the Villa is evident and your gentle yet efficient manner has made our stay perfect. What a wonderful team! So helpful, so friendly, so professional. Malen cooked fantastic meals for us throughout our stay, highlights were the curries, gado-gado and the seafood BBQ. Truly delicious. Our daughters have been well looked after with special meals too. Molly loves the banana pancakes! We truly appreciate the extra attention you have given both our girls - they have loved playing with you and will miss their new friends. The extra touches, eg. Molly finding new little animals in her room each day (cleverly made from towels!), being given special flowers, helping with things ... all of these touches have made our stay so special. As I sit in the stunning garden writing this, looking out over the amazing pool & the gorgeous pieces of land, I can't wait to plan our next visit. We hope to see you next year!

Again!

Villa Paloma you have done it again. Last year was amazing and this year was all of that plus more. The staff were so friendly' helpful, and professional. They put up with our request and nothing was to be a problem. We will be back, the Villa is stunning and it has been the perfect location to catch up with our best friends. See you again in 2015.
