Overview

As you enter Villa Melissa, you pass a bubbling fountain that pours water down a channel that follows a walkway into the main living room. Here the water flows under glass through the middle of the polished wood and stone edged floor in this spacious gathering spot, and it makes its way out to the steps leading to the pool and garden, cascading first into the shallow wading pool and then into the larger infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

Throughout the villa you will find natural materials like soaring alang-alang thatched ceilings, local lava stone steps, teak wood tables and ironwood decks. These elements are complemented by antique furniture and traditional and contemporary Indonesian artworks. Furthermore, the bedrooms, living and dining spaces and relaxation bales offer views out to the sparkling black sand beach, the crashing azure waves and quaint scenes of fisherman and surfers on the water.

The Layout

Indoor Living
Your first introduction to Villa Melissa is along the covered walkway into the 100 square metre living room. This space features lofty ceilings with fans, open sides to allow for sea views, tasteful furnishings, and a hidden screen that can be lowered for movie nights in, slide shows or presentations. Follow a set of sliding glass doors to the side into the air-conditioned dining room with a huge 16-seat table hand-carved from a single piece of wood, and another set of glass doors that lead to the garden.

Outdoor Living
Of course, it is nearly impossible to spend time at Villa Melissa without indulging in the fresh sea breezes outdoors. Two pools provide the centrepiece of the garden with one shallow pool for children and another 20-metre infinity pool for laps or leisure. The pools are surrounded by an ironwood deck with sun loungers and umbrellas, and there is a Jacuzzi and two bales at the edge of the property next to the sand, one for dining and one with soft cushions for meditating, massage or napping.

Master Suite
The master bedroom is on the ground floor of the villa, and it has a king bed, ensuite bathroom with a bathtub sunken into a koi pond, and French doors that open to the pool and beachfront.

Garden Suites
Along the entrance pathway you will find two garden bedrooms that are surrounded by tropical vegetation and koi ponds. French doors open to nature and the ensuite bathrooms feature both indoor bathtubs and showers plus outdoor garden rain showers.

Upper Guest Suites
Climb the double stone staircases on either side of the entrance of the living room, and you will reach a mezzanine lounge flanked by two guest bedrooms. These suites have spectacular views stretching over the beach and ocean beyond from private balconies, as well as king beds and ensuite bathrooms with large stone tubs and showers.

Location

Villa Melissa is located right on the famous sunset beach of Pererenan, Canggu, Bali. There are plenty of things to do in Bali if you choose, and the Villa Manager will be more than happy to arrange things for you.

Based at the villa you can go horseback riding, cycling or jogging, surfing if you’re experienced, or take lessons if you’re a beginner. The stunningly beautiful Greg Norman-designed, world-class Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali golf course, is just 15 minutes away by car.

Less than half an hour away - and easily accessible thanks to the villa's complimentary car and driver - are the many restaurants, bars, boutiques, clubs and cafés of chic Seminyak.

If local culture is your thing, we recommend several “must-see” temples, as well as world famous rice terraces, and the volcanoes and lakes of the interior.

Stunningly Wonderful

There are not many bad things, I can say about this place, though it is on the high end side, but it's worth it. The lush grounds and the beautiful seaside settings makes this an ideal place to get away and forget the world. With wonderful staff attending to your every need and all your meals covered and grounds filled with every facility, there really is no need to leave this place. And you won't want to. The ocean side infinity pool and the multiple cabanas and beach side BBQs are enough to keep you locked in this tucked away complex. Oh and there is a gym and tennis courts. No matter what, you are guaranteed to have quiet relaxing undisturbed rest in a place like this. Your own joy is fully in your control.

Amazing 6 stars!

We have just returned from our wedding in Bali which was held @ Villa Melissa - Pantai Lima Estate. What an experience!!! The villa and estate is amazing 6 stars. We loved the whole experience of being able to have all our children and partners staying in the one place where the wedding was, we had 4 days there. It was heaven, our wedding couldn't have been better (anywhere in the world)!! Our hats are off to the staff, event planners and everyone connected with the villas!! If anyone is thinking of a wedding in Bali, Villa Melissa Canggu is all I can say, our photos and video are amazing, the scenery of the villa and beach outstanding, we couldn't be happier. Our staff there felt like part of our family!! We'll be back!!
