The name refers to the stunning asymmetrical roofs here that slope at an angle and fall dramatically to the ground, evoking the sails of traditional Indonesian sailboats. Despite having an impressive 23 villas, The Layar - Designer Villas and Spa still manages to instil a feeling of openness and space, as the villas are spread out around a large grassy expanse filled with lofty flowering trees, and the setting is elevated, which makes it seem as though the boundary walls are non-existent. The Layout

There three-bedroom luxury villas at The Layar - Designer Villas and Spa, each of which is designed slightly differently. Features at these exquisite villas include angled and curved walls, the distinctive sail-shaped roofs, acid-washed floors that stretch from the edge of the pools to the Marabau wood entrances of the huge open-plan living and dining rooms, outdoor jacuzzis and verdant gardens. The bedrooms are oriented for seclusion and include screened entrances and statement walls, indoor/outdoor bathrooms and private decks, terraces and gardens.

Indoor Living
A light-flooded living and dining area, defined by dramatic overlapping roofs and a mix of angled and curved walls forms the heart of the villa. Handsome furniture rests on the acid-washed marble floors that flow unrestricted from the edge of the pool to a raised area of polished Merbau-wood opening onto a very well equipped kitchen. Four of the villas have a mezzanine level media room; in the others the free-flowing living space is so large, it’s not missed.

Guest Suites
The design intelligence so noticeable in The Layar creates an unprecedented sense of privacy for all three bedrooms, which lie off the main living area behind statement walls of stone or via well-screened entrances set at an angle or on different levels. The spacious master bedroom enjoys a glamorous bathroom with large bathtub, shower, double basins and a private garden. The guest bedrooms are just as enticing and secluded, with equally gorgeous indoor/outdoor bathrooms, many also featuring their own private garden areas.

Outdoor Living
Edging right into the living area for toe-dipping convenience is the jacuzzi and shallow section of the large swimming pool. Another social space is created by the pool deck and garden with sun-loungers and sunset views.

And mere moments away is the sweep of the black-sand Petitenget Beach, famed for its surf breaks and sunset bars.

Fantastic

We had a fantastic stay at the Layar for our friend’s hen party. The staff were excellent and the villa itself is simply stunning. There is a great deal of privacy considering the proximity to the other villas and it was extremely quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed a massage in the villa and the therapists were fantastic. We ordered some coffees to the villa and a staff member even came and made them in the villa to ensure they were hot!

Beautiful Experience

Everyone was so friendly. The villas were private and well maintained. The in house spa and BBQ was excellent and the buggy into town was so convenient. It was great having both air conditioned as well as indoor/outdoor spaces.

Amazing Villa

Two families in a 3bed villa and we all had enough room. Open planned and great pool. The Staff where amazing and the free ‘golf cart’ into town was a real treat. The breakfast was HUGE and delivered to our room each morning. The media room was nice up stairs to chill out in. Great internet. House keeping were so polite and happy. We had a child sitter arranged through the villa and they were very professional. A few mosquitoes but they sprayed the villas and provided spray. Definitely stay here again.

Outstanding in every way!

The facilities were amazing and the service and staff attitude, along with the meals and the general cleanliness was far above expectation. The privacy, although amongst a group of villas was incredible. We didn’t want to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, when asked. They happily organised taxis for us, or took us themselves in the buggy, arranged bookings for restaurants and tours. Perfect for the kids. They would have been happy, as would the adults, to simply stay in the villa for the duration of the holiday. The pool was awesome, and the size just perfect for laps or just lolling about. Thank you so much! We will be back.

I would highly recommend The Layar!

The villas are absolutely beautiful with huge rooms and a great outdoor area. We had a three bedroom villa with three couples, there was enough space for us to either all sit together or spread out. The pool is amazing and a decent size! We had private massages in our rooms and i would have to say mine was the best i have ever had! The staff were very helpful and super friendly. We felt very comfortable and at home at The Layar. I would most definitely stay there again. Thank you for making our stay such a great one!!
