The name ‘Arsana’ comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘flow’, and it refers to the winding Sungi River at the bottom of the property and the way that the self-contained living and bedroom pavilions spread out among the manicured gardens and spill down the lush hillside. Overview

To get to The Arsana Estate, you leave the hustle and bustle of south Bali and make your way through charming rural villages with Balinese temples, small warungs, and rice farmers tending their crops. The villa itself is situated on 2 hectares of land, and it is surrounded by emerald green lawns, tropical gardens, a flowing river and rice paddies as far as the eye can see.

The villa is made up of individual pavilions, each with huge glass windows, ironwood roof shingles, and rich wood accents. Water features like lily ponds and waterfalls abound, and a huge swimming pool looks out over the beautiful gardens. Inside you will find colourful artworks and furnishings, top-of-the-line equipment like satellite TVs and surround sound systems, and plenty of space to gather with loved ones or find a private corner to yourself.

Although the villa is set up with absolutely everything you need, you’ll probably want to get out and explore the small laneways and rice paddy paths in the village, as well as the rugged coastline, surf breaks, golf course and famed Tanah Lot temple nearby.

The Layout

Indoor Living
You enter The Arsana Estate through a palm fringed courtyard and make your way up a wide stairway to the U-shaped main villa pavilion. On either side of the entrance hall and open-air terrace, there are gorgeous wings wrapped in glass windows and doors. One wing houses the living room with its plush sofas and garden views, as well as the black granite bar with cushioned bar stools and red lanterns, and the TV room with a 60-inch TV, DVD player, movie library, sofas and beanbag chairs.

The opposite wing has a dining room with a five-metre dining table, inset with stone and surrounded by 16 armchairs. Down a few steps from the living pavilion is a delightful alfresco breakfast terrace with a table for 10 under a pergola draped in white blossoms. The fully stocked kitchen is also in this wing, and it has an additional bar with 8 bar stools that doubles as a cocktail locale or breakfast spot. Next to the dining room you will find the self-contained games room with a pool table, board games, and comfy arm chairs.

Master Suite

Each of the bedroom suites at The Arsana Estate is housed in its own stand-alone pavilion. The Master Bedroom is outfitted with a king-sized bed, a small sitting room with a sofa and 50 inch screen, and an ensuite bathroom with a huge sunken tub, monsoon rain shower and glass doors that open to the breezes. In addition, there is a lounge area in the front of the suite with a sofa that looks out over the garden and river valley. This suite has a connecting door to the children’s bunk room, which has the capacity to sleep up to eight children in considerable style and comfort.

Guest Suites

The additional two guest bedroom pavilions can be reached via garden paths, and each contains a queen-sized bed, ensuite bathroom, covered terrace with armchairs, and windows that open to nature.

Outdoor Living

On the lower level of the main pavilion a waterfall splashes down to the 19m x 7m swimming pool, which has a wooden sundeck on one side with sun loungers and umbrellas. Behind the pool deck there is a covered pool lounge and dedicated spa rooms for soothing massage sessions.

Location

The Arsana is located 11km from Tanah Lot sea temple, in the sleepy village in the Tabanan Regency. This beautiful rural area of rice fields and jungle-clad river valleys, is a nature lovers’ paradise. The area is great for cycling (bicycles are available at the villa for guest use) and, by taking advantage of this facility, guests can enjoy a privileged insight into the agricultural, religious and daily life of the villagers. ‘Nirwana Bali Golf Course’ (10km) was designed by Greg Norman and voted the number one golf course in Asia. The coastline (11km) is rugged and the beaches more suited to surfing than swimming.
