So you’re planning a holiday in swanky Seminyak, which means you’ve probably got a little bit of wining, dining and partying in mind. And if that’s the case, you may as well stay in a place that suits your holiday M.O. Ultra-modern, stylish and unique, Luna2 Studios and the Luna2 Private Hotel are the ultimate party pads for jetsetting globetrotters. From the retro, futuristic design and decor to the groovy underground lounge and dance floor, the sleek rooftop bar, and the Lunaplex cinema, this place is the ultimate base for those seeking sophisticated revelry in the heart of Seminyak.
Luna2 Private Hotel
When designer Melanie Hall dreamed up the Luna2 Private Hotel, she wanted to break away from the ‘tropical chic’ modern Bali style of architecture and design that is ubiquitous around the island. She drew her inspiration from her father, an international architect in the 1950s and 60s, as well as great modernist creators like Neutra and Van der Rohe. The result is a funky fusion of cosmic elements and whimsical retro designs that create a signature style that Melanie likes to describe as ‘FUNked-up modernism’.
Step into this spectacular 5-bedroom beachfront villa, and you are immediately struck by the vibrant hues like the deep orange chairs and circular sofa and the glittering turquoise pool, contrasted by the gleaming white floors and smooth grey stone panels. Adding to the aesthetics are patterned Bisazza mosaics, modernist paintings, classic furniture pieces accented by walnut veneers and solid acrylics, and vintage European wallpapers. And like the true party pad it is, Luna2 Private Hotel is outfitted with a pre-loaded iPod and Bose stereo system, a fully stocked bar, private pool, plenty of places to boogie or crash, and a gourmet room service menu available around the clock.
Like their chic older sister, the Luna2 Private Hotel, the Luna2 Studios stay true to Melanie Hall’s design ethos, which is to “respect the past, welcome the future and have fun in the process!” Each of the 14 open-plan rooms is decked out in a different primary colour, and features fun accents like disco balls, Monopoly-themed artworks, Jasper Morrison chairs, Louis Poulsen lamps, Brionvega retro TVs, and nostalgic snacks like Chupa-Chups lollipops and Pez.
You could spend hours in your room rocking out to cool tunes and sipping divine wines from Luna2’s award-winning wine cellar, but it would be a shame not to visit the colourful pool, the funked out Fuel Station fitness centre, Orbit Restaurant for gastronomic delights, the hip and happening pop! lounge bar, Space rooftop bar or the Lunaplex cinema. Even if you decide to hit up the clubs in Seminyak, your dedicated Lunamobile will take you wherever you want to go, and provide you with refreshing beverages (naughty and nice) along the way.
Whether you’re a single traveller looking for an inspired space, a couple seeking a groovy love nest, an artsy family or fun group of friends, the Luna2 properties offer a cosmic experience that goes above and beyond for dining, quaffing, lounging and sleeping. For extra special events that require a maximum of space, the Luna2 Studios and the Luna2 Private Hotel can also be booked together for exclusive use.
