ADVENTURE YACHTS

Take a journey back in time to the days when phinisi spice trading ships plied the waters of the Indonesian archipelago aboard Mantra, a 30-metre sailing vessel built on the island of Sulawesi using traditional Indonesian boat building techniques. Her wooden decks and billowing white sails evoke the seafaring heritage of Indonesia, while her modern interiors and state-of-the-art technology firmly place you in the present. Journey to remote islands, pristine beaches and crystal clear bays on Mantra to see a side of Indonesia untouched by the passage of time, all while travelling in contemporary comfort and class.

Onboard

Mantra’s decks, cabins and living spaces are outfitted in light teak wood, which gives it a rustic vibe throughout. Inside you will find three roomy cabins, plus a lounge, library and dining area replete with a TV, DVD player, music centre and board games. On the aft deck there is a dining area with a long wooden table, a cushioned bench and deck chairs, which makes for the perfect place for leisurely lunches and sunset cocktails amid spectacular views. There are also front-facing sun loungers on the fore deck and a large sunbathing area on the upper deck.

Bespoke Cruises

What sets Mantra apart from other liveaboard yachts is their wide range of itineraries that take you to some of Indonesia’s least visited islands. Take a private charter to the Alor archipelago in the far eastern end of Indonesia and experience rugged volcanic islands, unspoiled underwater worlds and local villages that still practice the ancient customs of their ancestors. The marine reserve of Raja Ampat offers plenty of opportunities to swim, snorkel and dive amid limestone karsts, coral gardens and schools of tropical fish, and the Komodo National Park is the only place in the world you can Indonesia’s famous Komodo Dragons.

Cabins

Each of Mantra’s three spacious cabins have queen-sized beds, Indonesian artworks and textiles, built-in wardrobes with safety deposit boxes, A/C, and ensuite bathrooms with hot-water showers. One of the cabins also has bunk beds on the side, and you can add single beds to the other two cabins, which means the ship can comfortably sleep anywhere from 6 to 10 people. This unique layout is perfect for families travelling together with children or groups of friends.

Facilities & Services

In an effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible, Mantra makes use of solar panels, a reverse osmosis water purifier that can produce 120 litres of fresh water per hour, and a high-efficiency inverter and battery bank that provides electricity without the use of generators. However, there are also low-impact generators available to ensure that the air-conditioning, electronics and compressor machine function at full capacity at all times.

When it comes to service, Mantra boasts a crew of seven including an experienced Indonesia captain, a cruise director, dive master, chef and housekeeping team, so guests will never want for anything along their journey. The chef will prepare three nutritious meals a day, and soft drinks, tea, coffee and water are always on hand. The dive master can also lead up to four dives daily for certified divers, and the cruise director is happy to arrange bespoke excursions to deserted beaches, thriving mangroves and traditional villages.
